Q:
What is the purpose of a wireless Audio/Video Sender?
A: A wireless audio/video
sender allows you to transmit audio/video signals of cable,
satellite, video camera, DVD player, VCR, projector, or
computer, etc. from one room to another wirelessly. RF-Link
5.8GHz audio/video sender not only provides 300 ft (100
meters) wireless transmission (in open space), but what
distinguish itself from other similar products is it avoid
the interference from crowded 2.4GHz ISM band applications
such as Video Sender, 802.11b Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, Cordless
Phone, Microwave Oven, etc.

Q:
What is the
purpose of an IR Mouse (Remote Control Extender)?
A:
An IR Mouse allows user to change source device's functions
from the remote site. With model AVS-5811, an user, for
example, can change the television channels from receiving

Q:
Remote control
is not working. How can I verify IR Mouse is working?
A:
When you press your remote control toward the receiver,
you shall see a bright red LED indicator blinking from the
front window of the transmitter. If not, the IR signal is
not sending through properly. Please adjust the position
of IR mouse and UHF antennas.

Q:
How can I
control my source device from the remote site?
A:
To
control your TV functions remotely, the IR signal transmission
must be in proper line of sight and in effective range.
It is important to first correctly locate the IR sensor
of your source device (e.g. VCR/ DVD player/ Satellite/
Cable). Once you have located the IR sensor, you can establish
your IR signal transmission via the IR mouse or simply with
the transmitter.

- Place
the IR Mouse properly in front of the IR sensor
of the source device within 6 inch range and secure
the position with the included Velcro tape.View

If the space permits, you can establish your IR
transmission with your transmitter. Just unplug
the IR Mouse and have the transmitter's front window
facing directly towards the IR sensor of your source
device.View

Q:
Can I watch
two different programs on two TVs that are connected to
the Audio/Video Sender device?
A:
Both
primary and secondary TV have to display the same video
program. Once the channel on either TV is changed, the other
TV channel will be changed accordingly. But the good news
is a new Cable TV Sender (Model
number ACS-5820) has been introduced at the end of 2006,
which enables you to watch different channels from sending
and receiving TV simultaneously without interfering with
each other.

Q:
Does
AVS-5811 support both NTSC & PAL?
A:
Yes,
AVS-5811 supports both NTSC and PAL version. When use in
PAL environment, please based on each region's situation,
change power adapter to 220/230V (Input: 230V, 50Hz. Output:
9V, 500mA.), and/or replace package-included RCA-to-RCA
cable to RCA-to-SCART cable.

Q:
I could not
see any picture after I connected my Audio/Video Sender
device.
A:
Here
are several things that you can do to quickly resolve this
problem:
- Check
to see if your transmitter is connected to the video
source (e.g. Set-top box, DVD player, Computer)
and the receiver is connected to the receiving device
(e.g. television, projector).
-
Check for proper connection of your RCA cables.
Transmitter must be connected to source device via
"AV OUT", and receiver must be connected to receiving
device via "AV IN".
-
Ensure both transmitter and receiver are turned
'ON' and set to the same channel.
-
Check to see if the television is set to Audio/Video
mode when using RCA connection. Refer to your televisions
owner's manual to set the television to Audio/Video
(Aux) mode.

is possible to experience brief interferences when moving
the Audio/Video Sender sharply, or walking by it in a close
range.

Q:
I have a
5.8GHz telephone system, will that be a problem?
A:
AVS-5811
may experience interference from other 5.8GHz cordless telephones.
You may have problems such as distorted picture, or horizontal
hold. There is no telling what problem may occur due to
various models from different telephone manufacturers. If
you have a 5.8GHz phone or any other 5.8GHz system in the
same environment and cannot get good audio/video reception,
unplug those systems' power will help you to determine if
they are the root-cause of the interference.

Q:
Can
AVS-5811 work with a HD set top box to send regular cable
program to a SD TV?
A:
Yes,
assuming the HD set top box has a built-in tuner (which
we believe to be true) and is backward compatible with regular
program, AVS-5811 will have no problems in connecting to
a regular TV, transmitting and receiving the regular program.

Q:
Will
AVS-5811 or ACS-5820 be able to send HD program from a HD
set top box to a regular TV?
A:
No,
A regular TV will not be able to work with a HD set top
box/program. That is, neither AVS-5811 nor ACS-5820 is able
to work in such scenario.

Q:
Will
AVS-5811 or ACS-5820 be able to send regular cable program
from a regular set top box to a HD TV?
A:
A
regular set top box should have no problems working with
a HDTV. However, the HDTV will only be able to show the
regular-quality program. That is, AVS-5811 and ACS-5820
will be able to work with the HDTV, showing regular-quality
program.

Q:
Does AVS-5811-PAL
support PAL-B standard for India?
A:
AVS-5811
in PAL standard works in all different countries. To be
clear, those different PAL standards are referring to the
different channel frequency sequences designed inside the
tuner. That is, each country might have its own channel
frequency sequence.

Q:
AVS-5811
power stated as 9v 500mA, is this regulated or unregulated?
Does the unit use 500mA exactly or fluctuate at 300-500mA?
A:
Since
AVS-5811 already has a built-in regulator, the power supply
does not have to be regulated. It is all right to use an
unregulated power source. In addition, the power AVS-5811
uses can fluctuate between 400 mA and 500 mA.
